Most utilities publish a height range for the meter centerline hitting that range first time avoids a rejection during the connection visit. Running the supply and load cables in separate conduit entries, or at least keeping them clearly separated inside the box, keeps the installation inspection-ready. For steel enclosures, touching up any scratches or stone chips on the paint prevents rust from creeping under the coating. In coastal environments, a rinse with fresh water every few months washes off salt spray that accelerates corrosion around hinges and fasteners.
